Bach Festival Society of Kalamazoo The St. Olaf Choir, with 75 mixed voices, is the pioneer a cappella choir in the United States. Since its founding in 1912, the choir has set a standard of choral excellence and remained at the forefront of choral artistry. The ensemble's annual tour brings its artistry and message to thousands of people across the nation and around the world, and in 2010 will include two perfomances in Michigan.

Bach Festival Society of Kalamazoo Timothy Tikker performs the time-honored music of J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and Messiaen on the beautiful Helmuth Wolff, op. 31 organ at Stetson Chapel. The program includes Bach's beautiful cantata "Ich habe genug" featuring soprano Deobrah Fraiuff accompanied by a period instrument ensemble.

Cantus will also be giving a Master Class earlier in the day from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Portage Northern HS Auditorium. This event is FREE and open to the public.

Master Class Participants: Portage North Middle School, Portage Northern High School, Portage Central High School, and Southwest Michigan College.

Bach Festival Society of Kalamazoo Haydn's Lord Nelson's Mass and Handel's Coronation Anthem No. 1 (Zadok The Priest) are performed by the Bach Festival Chorus and Arcato Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Jim Turner in this commemorative year which marks the anniversaries of their deaths. Featured soloists are Kristi Van Overen, soprano, Gwen'Alec Jordan, tenor, and James Bass, baritone.
