Composer George Crumb will join us with the piano duo "Quattro Mani" and the Colorado String Quartet in this mini festival celebrating this composer and his music. George Crumb's reputation as a co...mposer of hauntingly beautiful scores has made him one of the most frequently performed composers in today's musical world. From Los Angeles to Moscow, and from Scandinavia to South America, festivals devoted to the music of George Crumb have sprung up like wildflowers. Crumb, the winner of a 2001 Grammy Award and the 1968 Pulitzer Prize in Music, continues to compose new scores that enrich the musical lives of those who come in contact with his profoundly humanistic art.

Festival in celebration of his 80th Birthday
Time:8:15PM Tuesday, March 17th

Amy
I left Dalton in the spring of 1999. I am now a mother of 3! I am just aching to say this: There were times I may have dreaded all that time in a sound-proof practice room by myself or Convo every week, (do you still do that?) However, I now wish I had a small, locked soundproofed room of my very own or a time every w...eek where I was required to just sit quietly and listen to music. It all looks so different from this perspective... You know what they say about hindsight. :)Read More
