Kansas Authors Club We finally figured out how to remove the "group" page for KAC, so now this fan page is the only KAC page on Facebook. I hope we didn't lose too many people in the transition. Please feel free to invite your friends who are KAC members or fellow Kansas authors to become fans of this page.

Kansas Authors Club How many of our Kansas authors are participating in NaNoWriMo this year? How's it going?

Kansas Authors Club A round of applause to District 1 members for an excellent convention in Topeka. It was good to see so many writing friends and there were a number of new faces, as well.

National Novel Writing Month (November) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing.
The challenge: to write 50,000 words in 30 days That’s an average of 1,667 words/day.
The only thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to l...ower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly. Writing begins November 1 and ends November 30. No exceptions.
Participation is free, winners are self-reported on the honor system, and no prizes are awarded outside of an extreme sense of self-satisfaction for meeting the challenge. While the concept may seem impossibly hard, in 2007, NaNoWriMo had over 100,000 participants. More than 15,000 of them crossed the 50k finish line by the midnight deadline.
Kansas regions are available, or start your own forum post for your area under the Kansas::Elsewhere regional forum.
Since 2005, NaNoWriMo's Young Writers Program (ywp.nanowrimo.org/) has provided a special website and self-contained message board for all participants under 18, as well as those participating as part of a K-12 classroom group.
Any participant age 13 and older can participate on the regular NaNoWriMo site. Register today at http://www.NaNoWriMo.org http://www.NaNoWriMo.org
