Unified Govt. of Wyandotte Co./ Kansas City, KS - Department of Air Quality We had an exceptional turnout for our free wood debris dump day. 49 people brought roughly 189 cu. ft. of wood debris. Based on calculations, we prevented 1646 lbs. of particulate matter from being emitted into the atmosphere. Thanks to C.S. Carey for hosting the event.

Unified Govt. of Wyandotte Co./ Kansas City, KS - Department of Air Quality Seventy four eager participants gladly handed over their charcoal lighter fluid in exchange for a charcoal chimney. The UG DAQ was able to collect and properly dispose of approximately 11.5 gallons of charcoal lighter fluid. Using the information compiled by participants on a brief questionnaire, the UG DAQ estimates that this event alone will remove a little over 436 lbs. of VOC from the air this summer.
