American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City The Disaster Action Team braved the incredibly bad weather to respond to five fires over the long holiday weekend. They made sure a total of 10 adults and two children had a place to stay and food. Now, family services case workers will look to hear from each family this week to see what other assistance we can provide them.

Almitra Buzan I just got word that our mobile meals for the homeless program tonight has been cancelled due to the weather. We have to put volunteer safety first. However, the volunteers will be out again next Friday passing out meals, and they'll give the gifts out that day too!

Happy Holidays Red Crossers! I know some of you will probably be
responding to fires all Christmas weekend, and the Mobile Meals for the
Homeless volunteers will be out Christmas night providing a special
dinner and gifts to the homeless. Know that you're in a lot of peoples'
thoughts and prayers -- including mine!

Steven All of you guys and gals are great! I hope it's a quiet weekend for us all coming up. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year gong into 2010.

American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City A busy eight-fire weekend sent the disaster action team volunteers to assist 12 adults and 17 children with food, shelter and clothing. Thanks go to Bob and Nancy McSweeney, Denbt Snell, JoAnn Woody, Clayton Franks, Bob Wonnell, Hank Robertson, Joe Rogers, Mike Maloney and Diane Gard for all of their hard work.

Belva, took the time to talk, not only about Red Cross services, but about life in general. She told the client to call 24/7, even if she just needed to talk. That ma...de me think about what many people don't know about the Red Cross. Yes, we offer financial assistance and services, but we also offer hugs, a listening ear, care and concern.

Darla Weatherholt There is nothing like feasting for the holidays, especially with great friends. The Red Cross Party was a smash. Just look at the faces of the Red Crossers- total joy.
