Thank you for posting your comments. KDP serves a very diverse group of educators, and we hope for lively, open dialogue on important issues in education. As educators, we offer opportunities for critical thinking and analysis among our students and peers.

Dr. Ayres is a single component of our convocation. There will be other speakers such ... See Moreas Barbara Morgan and Jerry Mills. There will also be over 175 workshops and a career fair.

Kappa Delta Pi does recognize that Dr. Ayres is a controversial individual. Fellow Laureate, Dr. Alan Schoenfeld invited him to participate in a panel discussion on the topic "How does a career spent studying issues of educational psychology, mathematical teaching and learning, philosphy, or social justice speak to critical issues faced by teachers in the trenches?" Dr. Schoenfeld considers Dr. Ayres' work in reforming Chicago schools and improving urban education to be an important contribution to the dialogue because his research and writing have focused on the importance of creating progressive educational opportunities in urban public schools.
