Kay Bratt "Reporting from Los Angeles and Beijing - My name is Haley. I was adopted in 1995. I now live in America. I enjoy singing and playing the violin and hanging out with my friends. I have a good life, but I would like to find my biological family."

What a miracle to have found her birth family. I think the possibility for our daughters to find their biological family is so rare that when I see that it happens and its a positive experience it only reaffirms the fact that if the child wants to it would be a blessing to be able to find her birth family.

Kay Bratt Is there Christmas in China?

If you walked around a major Chinese city 20 years ago, you probably wouldn't have seen many signs of Christmas. This is because Christmas is a Christian holiday and not many Chinese people are Christian. ...

Practically from the day her parents brought her home from the orphanage in Yiangmen, China, Meredith Grace Rittenhouse was obsessed with the idea of sisters. She told her preschool teacher about her sister in China.

Tassie: Sisterfar was started by us as a support group for people in our situation; your guess is as good as anyone's as to why the kids are separated, but I doubt it's moms selling their babies as a racket.

Just before Christmas in 1999, I got off a flight from Hong Kong to San Francisco with a frail, 13-month-old baby girl in my arms. The future for her, I felt sure, would be far different now that she was in America.

I wasn't clear that my criticism and suggestions were not intended for Kay but Russell. And thanks Kay for letting me post my opinion so others can be aware of another side. I think if you're going for awareness that perhaps the other side should be presented as well. I admirer your activism and volunteer work for the Chinese Children.
Hayley, ... See MoreMelinda, Moya... ditto and thanks for your posts.
We wouldn't have our kids if it weren't for China and the Chinese so they do deserve our respect and at the very least attempts to understand their culture and history.

Here is another idea for you to take care of some small gifts this year. We did this one year and it was a huge hit. It would be especially good for your child to give to teachers or you to give to the mailperson, hairstylist, or just friends! Give a Christmas Potpourri...

Kay Bratt Quote: "The study recommends several changes in adoption practices that the institute said are important, including better support for adoptive parents and recognition that adoption grows in significance for their children from young adulthood on, and throughout adulthood."

A study says that more than half of the first generation of children adopted from South Korea struggled with their ethnic identity, and it recommends changes in adoption policy.
