About Us
Kentucky Equality Federation is Kentucky's largest (grassroots) lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization. Kentucky Equality leads efforts for LGBT civil rights at the state level through an array of strategies to bring equality and fairness to Kentucky.

What can I do to help?

One of the easiest and most basic things you can do is a volunteer is to give someone a business card, brochure, or information about our organization to as many people as possible and get them to sign-up for email alerts at www.kyLGBT.org.
FACT: The more people we have enrolled for email alerts at www.kyLGBT.org, the easier it will become to stop bad legislation, and win equality for all Kentuckians.

Friend Us / Follow Us:

Our definition of grassroots organizing:

Our movement is one driven by the constituents of communities throughout the Commonwealth. Our grassroots movement is at local and regional levels, as many volunteers in the community give their time to support the local/regional movement, which helps the statewide movement.

Typically, decision-making authority (as practical) is shifted to the organization's lowest geographic level of organization. At Kentucky Equality Federation, we place as much decision-making power as possible in the hands of local volunteers (except as prohibited in this Leadership Manual, or our Bylaws).

Community Outreach Volunteers Needed:

Kentucky Equality Federation continues community outreach with additional Outreach Directors. We are still looking for Outreach Directors to represent members of the LGBTI community that too often have not been included, either in positions of leadership or in public education.

Visit the Community Outreach section for additional information.

You're so right Scott; Representative Lee is a horrible "stain" that reflects poorly on all of Kentucky. He has been in office since 2001 because he hasn't had any opposition. No matter if you are in his voting district, every progressive person in the Commonwealth should want Mr. Lee out of office.
