THE SPENCERS IN PARISCreated on June 20, 2008 at 2:15am

After wrapping up all the videotaping, Greg and I had a chance to catch a few more shows. We saw Penn & Teller that first night so Friday we decided to see a new performer in town named Luke Jermay. He’s from Essex, England and is a mindreader/mentalist...

I landed in Vegas on Wednesday afternoon. My flight was delayed a few times and then I got to sit next to four loud, obnoxious adults who were competing in volume with the screaming baby in front of them. The last two hours of my flight were miserable…and the Vegas strip was a welcomed sight...

Yes they were very obnoxious and so glad that I did not run into them while I was there. Enjoyed talking to you hope all is well.

I have spent the last 2 days preparing for a trip to Vegas next week. Once there, I’ll meet up with Greg to videotape the lessons for my HOCUS FOCUS project. I’m excited about this DVD and curriculum but it has been exhausting work - more mental than physical...

Kevin & Cindy - don't know when you'll be back home again. Am sending information to you about a retreat that would be perfect for the work you do with children. It is a weekend held annually in Shreveport, LA for children with arthritis. I have forwarded your name to the program coordinators. Give me a call when you get it and I can give you more details. Hugs to you both. Chris Ketay

I’m sorry I haven’t written in a few days. We’ve been incredibly busy with the magic camp, interviews, and the performances. Let me attempt to recap the last few days - they were awesome...

Ah, 5:30am came very early this morning! I met Jolana from the Arts Center promptly at 6:15am to head over to KNWA for an appearance on THE MORNING SHOW. You can check out the interview on the station’s website, just click on the video link...

My Monday morning started early with a “pick up” from Enterprise Rental Car in Fayetteville. Because Ethan and I will be driving back and forth from the Walton Arts Center, we really didn’t want to make the trip in the semi...

We made it to East Knoxville on Friday, about 5 hours down the road. It was a good start considering we didn’t get out of Lynchburg until 1pm. This morning, we left Knoxville and drove about 10 hours to Conway, AR. We even managed to get some “cleaning” done in the truck...

Today, Ethan and I will start the journey to Fayetteville, AR..and it pouring rain outside! I’m not a big fan of driving in the rain. Starting Monday, I’ll be teaching for four days (with Ethan’s assistance) in the theatre camp sponsored by the Walton Arts Center...
Cat at 6:19pm June 12
woot! go magic camp! it's cat! u were great! i really want 2 come see your show!

Now and then, opportunities come along in this business that you really have to think about. Television is such an important medium in our society and many performers view appearing on television as the “ultimate” success...

Home - it’s always good to come home. These last few months of the tour have been exciting and exhausting. And it seems the work is never done...

We wrapped up our time in Corsicana with two performances at The Palace Theatre. This beautifully restored 1930’s vaudeville theatre has amazing acoustics, incredible lighting, and a typical vaudeville stage. The theatre tech students from the high school came over to help us load in our gear...

We pulled into Corsicana from Waco on Sunday afternoon - short drive. The next few days will be extremely busy. We are set to load into one theatre on Monday for two shows on Tuesday and two shows on Wednesday...

One of the shows I’ve been excited about this season was our performance at the Waco Hippodrome on Saturday, May 2. I met Scott Baker, the executive director, a couple of years ago and we started planning this event...

We rolled into Grand Prairie this morning to the loading dock of the Uptown Theatre. It was recently built/restored and put on the Historic Landmarks for the city. It’s a very cool place...

After a very brief time at home, we are flying back to DFW Airport in Dallas today to start the last leg of our Spring 2009 tour. The “swine flu” is certainly on the minds of a lot a people in Texas these days - making headlines in local newspapers across the state...

We arrived in Hays, KS the night before our show. It was beautiful when we arrived - sunny and warm. The weather did change, however, to severe thunderstorms (that’s the Weather Channel tour). The next morning things were much more quiet...

We arrived in Cheyenne the night before the show. It was a fairly easy drive from Boise but, one again, we hit some bad weather. A spring snowstorm blasted across Wyoming leaving more than 3 feet of snow in the higher elevations. We spent the night at the border in Evanston...

Friday was show day! After an early morning television interview on Fox 12, a tasty breakfast with Jan and Matt, I was on my way back to the hotel to gather the crew. I had a few things to wrap up in my “portable office” before we were going to drive over to the Morrison Center...

Matt was here at 5:50am to pick me up and drive up to Nampa. I was scheduled to do an interview on FOX 12 and we had to be there before 6:30am. Jan met us there and we all headed into the station. The host - Nate - was incredibly energetic for this hour of the morning...

Last night, I had the pleasure of having dinner with Jan (Exec. Director of the Morrison Center) and Jennifer (a former Miss Idaho and friend of mine). Downtown Boise is very hip and the restaurant in which we ate was awesome. I enjoyed the fish tacos...

Jan Zarr picked me up this morning bright and early at 6:45am. We were off to “94.9 The River” to do a radio interview with the morning guys. We had a great talk and you can check out their blog to get more details. This was the last entry from the morning show…...

We have finally arrived in Boise for the next few days. Once we entered Nevada, it was a much longer drive than we had expected. Actually, I’m not sure the drive was long as much as the fact that the “scenery” was not as exciting...

PLUCKERBRUSH, NV - POPULATION 28. We stopped here today for diesel fuel. The scenery was beautiful but there aren’t many towns on I-80 East from Reno to Well, NV. We’ve spent the last two days driving from San Ramon, CA through most of Nevada...

We had a great show last night in San Ramon, CA. This is a brand new theatre - open for less than a year - and it’s always a privilege to be a part of the first season of events...
Dennis at 5:20pm April 13
Patricia and I saw this show last Saturday night in San Ramon. It has been a long time since I've seen a magic road show and I was not disappointed. Great job Kevin and Cindy.

My new iPhone died yesterday. It was only 2 months old. Life on the road is tough, especially on our phones. But today, while driving from Redding to San Ramon, we stopped at the Apple Store in Sacramento and I picked up a new iPhone. The Genius Bar dude was great...

We stopped by the beautiful Cascade Theatre in Redding yesterday just to scope it a bit. It’s always nice to be able to get into the venue early when possible. It gives Cindy a chance to assess everything and makes the show day a bit easier for everyone...

Today started early with a radio interview on Redding’s Talk Radio, KQMS. Jeff picked me up around 7:35am and we were on our way to the studio. The hosts of the show were great fun and we chatted about tomorrow’s show and the outreach program I was doing today...
