I think charter school is a good option. But everyone has his/her own idea of what a good school should be. So you just have to find that school that meets your criteria. Again, wherever your kid is, be invloved. I won't do home schooling though, don't think kids are good at listening to their own parents :)

About home schooling,my personal opinion is that it works fine for certain families or circumstances. I did home school just for two months since I had to take my son out of his school and we both enjoyed it and what surprised me the most, was my son´s attitude.He showed responsability about working and following the agenda we had for the week. However, I wouldn´t do it for more than a few months because I totally believe that kids must have their own environment to socialize which is fundamental to adapt to any changes in their lives.
