The Women's Gifts Fair was beautiful. I got to hear John and Mary (from 10,000 Manaics), and I performed after a fabulous set by the lovely Buffalo Songwriter/Singer Noa Bursie.

Great thanks to Kathy Moriarty for taking the pics, to Bernadette Hoppe and all the organizers, to Dennis for great sound... and... of course... to the audience for lending your ears. And much appreciation to that PIANO—for being so nice to play!

My set (before I forget) was:... See More

I've Got Something For You (acapella)
Love and Anger (Kate Bush)
Sleep to Dream (Fionna Apple)
Silent All These Years (Tori Amos)
Little Bird
Oh, Life
Precious Time
Black Coffee (jazz standard)
Is It Wrong?
Boy
I Feel The Earth Move Under My Feet (Carole King)

There is no sound recording from the show, unfortunately. But I had a really nice time. This is my only show this fall. I'm in R&D mode. Writing. Practicing. But... soon. I'll keep you posted.

Kilissa Cissoko I'm performing at Women's Gifts Arts & Crafts Fair, Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Ani DiFranco's "Babeville" in Buffalo, NY (corner of Delaware & Tupper). Music and hand-made-art all day long. I'm on from 3:30-4:30. This is my ONE AND ONLY GIG THIS FALL --I'm in R&D mode lately, sequestered in my secret laboratory co...ncocting new music!--so I hope you can make it.

Kilissa Cissoko I was at Stillwater open mike the other week (hosted by Mike DiSanto). It's real nice (on Delaware Ave in downtown Buffalo). Had a good time. I'm enjoying hitting a few open mikes, just to share a few songs and make some new friends. I still have to get out to Clarence Coffeehouse one of these weeks - where all the big... kids play! :-) Hard to do this stuff on a school night, but I'll be there at some point.

Kilissa Cissoko I finally made it down to the Sportsman's Open Mike hosted by Dee Adams. It was really fun. Nice people, great crowd. I only played 3 songs-but they let me use their keyboard: no hauling gear-can't complain about that! I learned a cover of Joni Mitchell's Woodstock for the 40th Anniversary - such a beautiful song. Ever...yone knows it; people were singing along. They liked my stuff too. THANKS DEE for the warm welcome.
