Patrick Comiskey for the LA Times - "White wines to warm up your fall meals."
"Oregon's excellent Pinot Gris also possesses that unique Alsatian
marriage of richness and freshness -- these wines tend to be a bit more
fruit forward, with a cushiony warmth that complements dishes that
include roast chicken and poached salmon. Look to the ever-dependable
bottlings from King Estate..."

Compost: putting the grapes back in the ground after we take them out. Each year we make 1,000+ tons of Organic compost on the estate. The main ingredient is grape pomace (leftover parts or byproducts after crushing grapes). So we take the grapes out of the earth and make wine, and put as much of them back in as we can..., so that more grapes grow and more wine can be made. A beautiful organic cycle.
The photo is of the auger that moves the pomace from the wine press to the dump truck that takes it out to the compost area.Read More
