Bethany
Hello from the University of Bath!
We would like for you to take part in 365 Days of Pride, a new campaign. After attending NUS LGBT conference, we returned fired up with pride! And we don’t think it should only happen once a year.
The idea of the campaign is to show your LGBT pride everyday of the year. Inspired by the small rainbow badges given out by NUS, we thought that pride doesn’t have to be loud or aggressive, but it does have to be present. Showing pride to be LGBT if you can gives confidence to others in the community who may not feel the same.
We’re contacting you now to offer to send you resources to advertise the campaign. Please email us back with a delivery address if interested.
See the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group. php?gid=98358503867&ref=ts
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Bethany Wong

King's LGBT Any ideas/suggestions for King's LGBT 2009/2010 academic year, get in contact with a member of the committee!

Daniel yeah, I have to agree with the comments below. I feel as though the LGBT should have a greater presence around uni - I personally haven't seen much in the way of presence beyond this group. Is there a website other than this? I'm not sure I even saw anything at the freshers' fair ... was I not looking hard enough? Regular & well-promoted events would be good, greater exposure to ensure new first years in particular feel they can get involved (I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels a little apprehensive looking from the outside in?) and greater presence on campus in general. Anyway, without wanting to rattle on, I'd like to get involved next year too in any way possible and hopefully help to increase access/availability/promotion of the LGBT. Do let me know if I can help out in any way. X

I haven't really been a part of LGBT King's this year but I'd like to know how I can be a part of it next year.
When I started King's last Sept, I felt LGBT king's let me and other people down, I know there was no committee to start with, but even after January when a committee was formed I saw hardly any nights out organised. It seemed as though the only events organised were LGBTea parties and Trans-workshops which are hardly the funnest outings.
I feel a lot of gays come to uni hoping to express themselves and have some fun in the gay scene (coming from North Wales, I did) but King's LGBT failed to deliver an exciting host and I so I went to find it out by myself.
I work in Ku bar now, therefore I know how to have a good time and maybe I can organise something with my bar to have private functions or cheaper drinks etc. I don't know what positions are available but something along the lines of "fun organiser" seems suitable!
If anyone has any advice or comments, be my guest! x

Hi Tiffany,
We've just started talking bout campaigns in our meetings and there is much more to be confirmed. However, I can tell you that we're interested in campaigning on behalf of LGBT asylum seekers. We are currently undecided regarding blood and organ donation as the committee is split on this issue. There are very good arguments on both sides and it will need further consideration.
We will keep you updated on all of our campaigns, and by all means come to our next meeting.
If you would like further information:

Thanks for your interest on the matter!

Tiffany Emmett Hi was wondering if there were any campaigns going atm and where details would be? also was wondering if anyone had any strong feelings regarding blood, marrow, organ donation rules etc.? Thanks :-)

Hi, I wanted to contact one of the committee people about an event. I'm a fundraising coordinator for KCLMS Marrow and we are organising a speed dating event and wondered if Kings LGBT would be interested getting involved? If some one could message me thanks would be great
thanks
