Last night was the Charity: Water Seattle kick-off that started as a fundraiser and ended as a fun party...

One of my fave couples of all time have gone and got themselves married. YAY! You may remember them from their engagement session a month or so ago here...

Intensive. Inspiring. Moving. Mindblowing. Comprehensive. Cool. I haven’t won the lottery so the next best thing was finding a seat at the GoBoda-sponsored J. Garner Photography Bootcamp held here in hometown Seattle, WA this past week. What is J...

I am completely happy being a Nikon shooter. Especially since the introduction of bodies containing CMOS sensors like the D300 and then the full-frame D700...

When at Chateau Ste. Michelle shooting the Paris in Spring event, Mary pulled me aside to explain that she needed a quick headshot for Facebook and LinkedIn. Um… Of course. Walk outside. Look for light. Find it. The light reflecting off the light gray sidewalk popped her eyes. 10 frames. Bam...

I headed out to Chateau Ste. Michelle on Wednesday night for a little Woodinville event photography action and put the Foto Fun Booth™ through it’s paces. A little bit of wine, some yummy vittles, a cute parasol from Lodell at Bella Umbrella and you’ve got yourself some fun images...

Tonight I had the true pleasure of meeting up with Meadow and Jake for a great engagement session bathed in gorgeous evening light...

As it’s been mentioned time and time before, I have spent a considerable number of years holed up in Northwest recording studios behind mixing boards big and small evoking magical recordings from well-known artists to the obscure...

This past weekend the Bubbles, the Little Buddy and I headed the long way ’round Hood Canal to seek isolation and relaxation at the Little House in the Woods high atop Mt. Pleasant in the Port Angeles area code. Mother’s Day + peaceful mountain quiet + Cuban rum + fresh mint = A W E S O M E ! ...

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kelly + DJ last night in Redmond, WA. She drives a fast car. He rocks in a band. They ride motorcycles. We had fun. Engagement album hot of the griddle… Check the slideshow. ©2009 Kip Beelman. All Rights Reserved..

I had the good fortune to be hired out to Chateau Ste. Michelle last night for some headshots while everyone was assembled for their bi-annual meeting. What a fun, fun group of folks! The downside? They insisted I enjoy a glass of Luxe bubbles while I worked. Boo hoo, right?...

My number one responsibility and focus in life is being a dad. My wife takes 2nd fiddle to Ella cuz Sash can take care of herself and she’s a big girl that kicks ass on her own while only taking the names that matter to her. After that it’s making images and taking care of my clients...

Caroline is a 2010 Senior Rep hailing all the way from South Kitsap High School. We met up in Bremerton and rocked out her session like there was no tomorrow. We have great weather to thank for some gorgeous light and B-Town to thank for some great backdrops. ...

Stephanie came to Seattle ALL THE WAY from Marysville Pilchuck High School, so I hit the turbo button and piled on an extra layer of awesome. We cruised around the Cascade neighborhood and found all kinds of nice light and cool things to shoot against as backdrops...

Yesterday I received my client and sample copies of an 8×8 Fine Art engagement sign-in album. It is a beautifully handmade hard-bound book with lay-flat pages. Since theirs is a sign-in album, there has been a lot of negative space left for signatures. And I dig the image wrapped cover!...

Molly is one of my Senior Reps at Bremerton High School and was shot the same day as Jack. Who knew Bremerton had so many cool places to shoot and such a nice batch of people, with impeccable taste I might add.

So if you’ve poked around the blog at all you may have discovered that I credit the birth of my daughter as the catalyst for my interest in photography. My clicking away frame after frame of her is what eventually led to me taking on jobs for family friends and others...

Today I headed to Bremerton, WA for a 1 - 2 - 3 person senior portrait session. Jack, Molly and Caroline totally ROCKED IT! We worked B-Town over pretty good and found some nice spots...

I met up with Jack in his hometown of Bremerton, WA for a stroll around town and a varied array of images from gooey soft focus with lovely natural light to some really contrasty stuff in front of the Admiral Theater...

I was stumbling around the interwebz last night and ran across this video produced by Mark Wallace of Digital Photography 1 on 1 on Vimeo and shared on StudioLighting.net...

Scott drove in from Renton where he’s a senior at Liberty High School and we had to work inside for a bit because it was sooooooo windy. He plays in a band so we did some shots with his guitar that were fun. He sings too and gave a little impromptu concert that was impressive...
