Looking for a place to kick off the new year and celebrate 2010? Area partygoers should make plans to attend the New Year’s Eve Formal to benefit Children’s Hospital at the Academy Ballroom (4451 Kingston Pike; located in the Shops at Western Plaza). Opening with a reception including a showcase of ballroom dancing an...d heavy hors d’oeuvres at 8:30 p.m., the evening will feature a silent auction, a balloon drop at the stroke of midnight and a free champagne toast. All this while guests dance the night away to the sounds of the Brad Walker Orchestra.
A limited number of tickets are available for this event. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple and can be purchased by calling the Academy Ballroom at (865) 539-2255. Proceeds will be added to Star 102.1’s Dancing with the Knoxville Stars event, which benefits Children’s Hospital in the spring.
