David Lorimer
BBC
and SKY both leading with the imminent execution an UK national for
drug trafficking. Apart from the fact that it will be the first time in
50 years that an EU national has been executed by China, the man is
believed to be suffering from Bipolar Disorder. There is no reference to this story in today's (Dec 29) editio...n of the South Chiina Morning Post. One has to wonder how many of the news editors are on holiday.

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Backchat will be off air off on Chrismas day, but we will return next week with our "Best of Backchats 2009"-- the very best debates, heated exchanges on the most controversial issues!

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 On Thursday's Backchat we'll be talking about Minimum wage, how will it protect workers and how might this affect businesses? What should the rate be set at? Drop us a line with your thoughts and after 9.15am more free TV in HK? And who's YOUR person of the year?

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 ON Today's Backchat we'll be talking about Social Unrest in China. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has released a report citing that despite more economic progress, the country is seeing more protests, violence and crime. Why is this? And after 9, what's on your wishlist for this year's budget?

Ilan Ozer Well I just took the plunge and decided to become a fan of Backchat on facebook however I am an avid listener of the show. I'm usually listening while driving on the way to work. This may be a silly question but why is Radio 3 the only RTHK channel that doesn't have good reception in the cross harbour tunnel, the easte...rn cross harbour tunnel and the old kai tak airport tunnels? All the chinese language channels seem to beworking fine in the tunnels, but Radio 3 is lost in a blanket of static.

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 On Tuesday's Backchat we'll turn to HK politics once again but this time we ask only one question. "What is Universal Suffrage?" While some Pan-democrat groups have interpreted the Hong Kong Basic Law Article 45 saying Universal Sffrage as the ultimate aim. Others in the pro-establishment have rejected this interpretat...ion...What do YOU think? And after 9.15, Macau-- Happy 10th anniversary (and new Cheif Executive)!

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 Today's Backchat, we'll be talking about Climate Change, what do you think of the outcome of Copenhagen? Is China doing enough? Drop us a line with your thoughts!

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 Friday's Backchat we'll be talking about the Express Rail Link, the Legco Finance commitee will decide on the Rail's fate. What do you think of this rail? Is it worth HK$66.9 billion? Drop us a line or call us tomorrow at 233 66 288. And after 9.15 do YOU get unsolicited mobile texts? (They can cost up to HK$30 per msg)

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 On Thursday's Backchat we'll be talking about the Civic Party's go ahead with the resignation plans. The party claims they will execute the plan in mid-january, so who will step down? How will this work without major support from their big brother (Democratic Party)? What about Ronny (who disagrees with the plan in the... first place?) After 9.15, how will HK actually benefit from the Zhuhai-Macau-HK bridge?

Backchat on RTHK Radio3 On Wednesday's Backchat we'll be talking about compensated dating among young teenage girls. The latest shocking news is an online auction is of a teenage girl selling her virginity for HK$60,000. What do you think about this? And after 9am, why is there a slow uptake of the swine flu jab? Let us know if you've taken yours!

Cindy Can we talk about the bad sportmanship of Hong Kong people? Anyone who was at the HK Stadium on Saturday at the football game Japan vs Hong Kong? I had to endure 2.5 hours of booing and even witnessed people making rude gestures during Japan's National Anthem. Is this how we teach sportsmanship to the younger generatio...n? It's a disgrace that HK can host the East Asian Games and treat visiting teams this way.
