Good for you, I had a show at the plinth a few months ago and had a great time at the opening. Jonathan and Dorothy are great, the gallery is first rate and it will show off your exceptional work beautifully. Congratulation.

Glaze testing for color, quality and/or combinations is the same as experimenting with new forms and decoration. No artist is ever done, nor probably wants to be. At least not me, and I think that is a fairly common feeling. I hope to always learn and discover! That next big idea could be just a sketch, test tile or play afternoon away...adding... See More something subtle or changing the whole body for work.

Some potters glaze test constantly their whole career, and I've even heard of potters placing a minimum of new tests in every glaze firing. I test things when I have a new idea or inspiration...or get bored. My work only got where it is through experimentation, and I look forward to what's next! :)

I'll be glazing Monday and Tuesday, load Wednesday, so that day is less hectic, but any day is fine. Don't have a lot on hand, so let me know what she may be thinking. Thanks, Michael!

Betsy Kaemmerlen Beautiful work Kristen! Took a great workshop this summer from Amy Sanders who's in Charlotte NC. Lots of great textures... and quilting techniques. Please let me know if you're ever giving a workhop down south!

Hi Betsy! I'm all down South next summer: Penland and Appalachian Center for Crafts. You can always check my website on either the Workshops or Schedule page to see where I'll be. I'm very good at keeping it up to date. If there is a venue around you where you enjoy taking workshops, please pass along my website url. That's frequently how they happen!
