Within Pierce county there are several skate parks and a few places to ride bikes on paved or gravel trails, but no places to mountain bike. Up until a few years ago, Cascadia Forest land in the Victor falls area was a great place to ride for the local enthusiast. However, since it has been closed, those of us living... in Pierce County have had to go to Greenwater, Black Diamond, South Seatac park, Capital Forest, etc. When can we expect Pierce county to add to it's parks a mountain bike park? Curently there is a 34+ acre piece of county property for sale in Puyallup near 94th and 128th St E. This would be a great start for providing a safe enjoyable place for mountain bikers to participate in their sport. With that much space, several miles of single track trails could be added, a skills park built, and maybe even some space to share with a BMX track or velodrome, it could even provide a regular venue for cyclocross races in the area.Read More
