Ryan

Ryan Hey guys, I would be very interested in screening a short documentary I am in the process of filming about a local band called Victory In Numbers. It is only 10 minutes in length, and I would love to screen it sometime in December. I would love to have a lot of fans of the band attend and such, if you guys allow local ...filmmakers to screen short films, I would be very interested! Keep in touch! Thank you. You can message me here or e-mail at rstamerro@gmail.com

ART ...& COPY is a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration. Directed by Doug Pray (SURFWISE, SCRATCH, HYPE!), it features some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time: George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, Hal Riney and others featured in ART & COPY were responsible for "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?," "Got Milk," "Think Different," and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them. Visually interwoven with their stories, TV satellites are launched, billboards are erected, and the social and cultural impact of their ads are brought to light in this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion. www.artandcopyfilm.com. Not Rated, 89 minutes, 2009.

Mary Warlick is Executive Producer of Art & Copy and C.E.O. of The One Club (www.oneclub.org), the world’s foremost non-profit organization for the recognition and promotion of excellence in advertising. She annually produces the One Show, the premier and most respected advertising awards program in the world and created One Show Interactive, One Show Design, One Show Entertainment and the One Show College Competition and Students Awards, the Annual Student Exhibition, and One Show Speaker Series. Bruce Parent Have you thought of the possibility of a Saturday afternoon matinee featuring a family movie at ACME Screening Room? If you have the capability to show recently released films, why not have one such as the wonderful Disney/Pixar's "Up" for the kids and young at heart? I think with a little promo there would be interest.

Here is a video clip.

It appears that the recession claimed another victim? I wonder if there are other factors to consider. Such as the encroachment of the internet's websites (Netflix, etc) offeing online service to viewing and renting videos. I admit to the convenience of renting videos online at home. To me, that's the sign of the times we are living in. Nevertheless, it's sad to see certain businesses hurting in our hometown.

According to an email received from ACME Screening Room, Family Movie Night for Oct. 30th has been cancelled. Why? It's several weeks away and interest for it could pick up with a little advertising. Personally, the idea of providing an outlet for families with children to participate in any activities connected with viewing a Halloween movie is a good one.

I'm also in favor of a afternoon matinee on Saturdays featuring family type movies specifically aim at children.

ACME Screening Room This Sat night a SPECTACULAR and BEAUTIFUL film is playing at ACME: SITA SINGS THE BLUES. A stunningly beautiful animated interpretation of the Indian epic Ramayana interwoven with the animator’s own story of her husband moving to India and then dumping her by e-mail. Set to the 1920’s jazz vocals of Annette Hanshaw... what's not to love?

Bruce Parent a new member with a lifetime passion for films both classic and contemporary. I have viewed films of all genres from the "silent" era to today's independently made features. I also have a strong interest in international films of past and present.

I am admittedly nostalgic to see films of the past on a large screen. M...y personal favorites are available on DVDs but would love to share a communal experience with other film enthusiasts in a "Screening Room" such as yours.

Any possibility for showing classics by Fellini, Truffaut, Bergman, Godard, Chabrol, Kurosawa, Ozu, Tati, Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd, Eisenstein, Pabst, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Penn, etc ?....And I'm only stratching the surface (smile).

Hi Bruce! We've tried classics and get a VERY LOW turnout, sad to say. However we did show Casablanca a few months ago and may do another classic at some point. Stay tuned and thanks for your interest.
