Not too much snow here either. There is good skiing but it is super shallow. Snowpack above 9k is about a meter deep. You can find more and find less. There is enough snow to work the cats. Cold temps have initiated typical faceting for the Great Basin.

Very similar to last year at this time. We're one storm from opening, our scheduled opening is on the 22nd of Jan.

Ruby Mountains Heli Experience The old Piston Bully work horse cruised thru Lamoille last night about 8 PM. The bar patrons watched from their bar stools as they turned 180 degrees. 25-30 C at 9k more above. It would be great skiing if there was a base. We’re starting to build the roads to 10k in the cat terrain, preparing for our opening January 22nd.

Its a good old cat that does all the road building and hauls fuel. I have had it a long time and it saves the new cats from getting beat on the rocks in the early season. We need more snow, not so cold please.

Ruby Mountains Heli Experience Snow all day today. Very cold, dry snow. Great to see things white. We might move the cats out of the Lamoille Valley to their winter home at the yurt, maybe tonight as the cold snow continues to fall.

Not any snow below 8K and maybe a couple of feet higher on North faces. Nothing skiable. We are expecting a cold storm on Wed. that should give us a foot up high.
