It was another working weekend for Neil. The painters start today and the bookcases in the living room needed to be finished before the cleanup could happen. I actually helped out Sat. & Sun. on that part...hopefully that will be the last time I vacuum walls for awhile. ...

Ross Chapin Architects It's exciting to see Jim and Sue's backlot 'grandparent's cottage' take shape at June Beach on Whidbey Island. Good work, Jade Construction!

Ross Chapin Architects Just came across an old on-line article from the Seattle P-I — about Mike Neslon (aka Mr. Solar) and his perspectives on solar energy. The lead picture shows Mike and the rooftops at our Greenwood Avenue Cottages.

www.seattlepi.com
Mike Nelson's home in Shoreline is powered by solar arrays on the roof, accessed by a skylight. Two of his neighbors recently installed solar energy systems as well. His home uses just 3.5 kilowatt-hours a day; the Seattle average is 30.

Ross Chapin Architects Recent story in the Vancouver Sun:
"Size matters: apartments getting bigger, houses getting smaller...
Attitude, too, matters: less was once acceptable and on Whidbey Island we can see its return".

Ross Chapin Architects Who ever said there's not much fall color on Whidbey Island? This Katsura is having her peak moment right now (next to the Saratoga office building in Langley — designed by RCA several years ago).
