I hope this makes the legislature think about where the children will be when the parents are at the newly created jobs?? Without available high quality child care the stressors on Michigan's families will not be lessened! Save Great Start and ECIC, protect our children's future!

Amy, unfortunately, kids don't vote. I don't have high expectations as to what the Michigan legislature will do for families, especially given the party of no has such sway in the MI Senate.

How about saving the Michigan Thoroughbred Horse Racing industry from certain demise. Governor Granholm has just about hammered the final nail in our collective coffin by threatening to reduce racing dates and cut the budget out from underneath us. There are approximately 22,000 jobs in Michigan that are tied to the industry. Indiana, Pennsylvania... Read More, West Virginia and Illionis all have some kind of VLTs, slots or other gaming supporting their Horsemen and fattening their purse money with nearly 60% of the revenues going straight to their State's respective bottom line. In most cases that bottom line number to the State is greater than $250,000,000 - that's in millions. Ohio is about to have the same in 2010. We will be surrounded by higher purse money and more jobs which will ultimately lead to our horses and 22,000 jobs moving out of Michigan. My small business will shut its doors and I will be some $500,000 in the hole. MI needs to act now. Thank you
