International Night will be November 20, 2009 at 9:00pm in the Union Ballroom. The event will include belly dancers, drum circle, henna tattoos, international pizza, international desserts, interactive cultural booths, the chance to have your name written in many languages, and lots more! Co-sponsored by Friday Night... Fever and International Students Association as part of International Education Week.

Friday Night Fever with a Twist will be hosting three laser light shows at the UW Planetarium on Saturday, November 7. Admission is free! Seating is limited, so plan on arriving early. The UW Planetarium is located in the basement of the Physical Sciences building.

Friday Night Fever
Not to often does a band come along that captivates the audience with songs both lyrically and musically. The critically acclaimed band, Bekker is one of those few bands!
Based out of Seattle, the duo known as Bekker has been filling venues and satisfying ears up and down the West Coast for almost two years. Started by... front-man Matt Bekker, the songs he writes grabs the attention of the listener from the first downbeat. The raw emotion heard in his voice and in the lyrics of his songs have created a buzz more prestigious than anyone else his age. Combined with Matt's acoustic guitar and unique vocals is the seasoned veteran, Bryan Watson on percussion and vocals. Since a young age, Bryan has been singing and entertaining the masses. He has sung the National Anthem solo for the Seattle Mariners, Sonics, and Storm as well as toured countless states and countries. Together their opposite personalities and soulful harmonies have been taking the college world by storm playing over 300 shows at over 100 colleges across the country!
Matt's original songs tug at your soul with it's poetic realism. Recently, as a three piece band, they had the honor to share the stage with American Idol runner-up, Blake Lewis at a benefit show in Seattle. As a five piece band in 2008, they placed in the top 8 bands out of over 7,000 bands at a national battle of the bands contest hosted by "BODOG". They are slated to appear on a reality TV series later this years to claim the prize of the top band!

There will also be prizes awarded for Best Costume, Best Group, Best Couple, Most Creative, Worst Costume, and Most Gruesome.
There will also be materials to make your own costume if yo...u don't have one yet! We're trying to be go green, so FNF will make every effort to provide recycled materials.

Ghost Hunter Chris Fleming will be speaking on campus about his experiences with the paranormal on October 16, at 9PM in the Union Ballroom. Following Chris Fleming's presentation, 20 students will accompany Chris on a ghost hunt on campus. The tour is limited to the first 20 students to arrive at the event, so show ...up early!
With over 35 years of personal and collective experiences with ghosts, he has spoken on numerous radio and TV shows all over the world, discussing and giving detailed lectures on these experiences with the supernatural. He was the co-host of Biography channels hit "Dead Famous: Ghostly Encounters" and recently appeared on "Larry King" and "Sci-Fi's Ghost Hunters!"
He can be seen on the upcoming second season of Psychic Kids on the Biography channel and will be joining the Ghost Adventures LIVE, October 30th on the Travel Channel. He is currently pitching a new TV series, putting together a non-profit organization for paranormal research and development, consulting families and children on paranormal issues and trauma, speaking across the country and hosting his own podcast "Spirit Talk" at his website UnknownMag.com

Friday Night Fever Come share your talents at Friday Night Fever's Open Mic Night in the Union Gardens area. Sign-ups will start at 8pm and we'll start the show at 9. All talents are welcome, so read a poem, play an instrument, sing a song (yours or someone else's), practice your stand-up comedy, whatever! Don't feel like sharing your... talent? Just come and enjoy the show! We will have coffee, hot chocolate, tea, scones, cookies and brownies!
