The figure includes $26.3M in post-midnight sales on late Thursday night, also a new industry high. The old records were held by The Dark Knight for opening day with $67.2M and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for the post-midnights with $22.2M.

Allen Theatres Come celebrate the opening of New Moon with Allen Theatres at the Launch Pad inside the Cineport 10 today from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. There will be book readings, trivia and giveaways that include New Moon Posters, pins, movie passes and VIP seating for the Midnight showing of New Moon!
