The Best-of-Jury Exhibit is now up, and will remain up until after the start of the fall semester.
We are open Monday - Friday 9-5 and closed weekends for summer session one. So we are not open May 9-10. May 11 we start the 9-5 schedule. Our hours are more limited than previous summers due to staffing shortages.

Students in the Architecture Studies Library had the opportunity to declare their favorite magazine and share with other students via an in-library flip chart. Here are the magazines they mentioned, along with how much use the current issues of the title got in 2007-2008...
I have put out a list of current subscriptions in the ASL, with the statistics on how many uses they got in 2007-2008. As you know, if journals are not well used, we cannot justify continuing with the subscription. The list is in the current periodicals section. Comments welcome!
In what will no doubt be the first of several rounds of journal cuts, the Libraries looked at titles that are available both in print and online...

This fall I distributed a short survey asking students and faculty whether they preferred print or online journals and books. Here's what I found out! For books: 81 preferred print; 17 preferred electronic; and 18 indicated that the format didn't matter...

UNLV Libraries is considering purchasing access to Pop Culture Universe. This database includes more than 300 volumes of reviewed, published material comprising thousands of overviews of pop culture from the 1920's through the present, including TV shows, awards, fads, fashions, and news.

In this year, our 10th year in the Sogg Architecture Building, there were two extraordinary events in the library. In the fall, there was the Student Art Show; in the spring the Student Photography Exhibit...
