The 287(g) program – a program that allows deputies to identify and place detainers on illegal criminal aliens for U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – officially began today, November 16, 2009.

Each year over 87,000 un-wanted dogs and cats are de-stroyed in Atlanta area shelters. Many dogs and cats are homeless and die from injury or starvation. Pet overpopulation is a serious prob-lem, and Spay-Georgia’s mission is to reduce the suffering by pro-moting wide-spread spay/neuter ser-vices in the state of Georgia. Over 68,000 dogs and cats and have benefited from this organization.
