A temporary ban on coursing the Irish hare will be reintroduced in Northern Ireland on 1 December 2009. The Special Protection Order prevents the killing, taking, sale or purchase of the Irish hare, but only at certain times of the year.

This is an old image but it’s perfect for showing the cruelty that comes back if the Hunting Act is repealed. Here, the master of the hunt cuts the brush (tail) from the (probably) dead fox to smear across the face of children present in a perverse ritual known as ‘blooding’.

We thought we’d go for a lighter image today. It comes from a member of our Operations Team, out monitoring a hunt earlier this week. He got some great film of an illegal hunt … and of a beautiful fox having a good look back at him down the camera.
Remember, a repeal of the Hunting Act makes it legal for hunters to chas...e him and have dogs rip him apart. Keep Cruelty History.
