      • Oceans Aware is an organisation dedicated to improving the general public's awareness of the world's marine environment, and ensuring it's stability for future generations.

Interns will make use of the valuable skills and hands-on experience gained with Oceans Aware to teach and enrich the lives of thousands of children in desperate need of knowledge on environmental issues and on sharks in parti...cular. These children are the future South African decision-makers in the economy, education, environmental issues among others, and therefore, being part of this program, will ensure a long term investment for the future of a developing country.

Throughout this project, interns will improve in their teaching and presentation skills; they will gain teaching hours, learn more about shark biology, ecology and evolution, while at the same time, play a crucial part in the conservation of marine life and in the education of those school children. Interns will also gain hands-on experience by collecting data for research projects on shark fisheries and management.

Interns will be exposed to the practical side of research while out at sea with Oceans Research interns. They will get the chance to learn about several white shark research projects such as photo identification, population dynamics, genetic and stable isotope sampling and more.

              • Lee College The short answer: You're probably best looking for something off-campus right now. The longer answer: Although we do have a Ricoh print shop on campus, it's very new, and so far it has only been accepting jobs from the college itself. The shop is working out the details that will allow it to accept jobs from students and the general public.

              • Becky Martinez If you are open to the public and students, how do you protect the integrity of the faculty tests?

              • Lee College Although the shop does print exams (with security in place), it doesn't currently serve the general public. If it begins to do so, it will take precautions to ensure that the tests are not compromised.
