Lee Shaw The Lee Shaw Trio with special guest John Medeski | The Egg Sunday, April 5, 7:30 PM Lee Shaw Trio is a swinging, exciting, acoustic jazz piano trio led by a woman who not only expands the tradition but helped to create it. Shaw has been adjunct faculty at the College of Saint Rose since 1983 and also teaches privately. Among her most accomplished students is John Medeski, keyboardist of Medeski, Martin & Wood.

LEE SHAW REVIEW IN APRIL 2009 DOWN BEAT - EXCERPT: "Shaw has a clean, delicate touch, with which she pulls the notes from the piano rather than pushing them out from it in predominantly single-note melodic lines. The trio's every utterance contains constant dialoge and give and take: Siegel surges with Shaw's lines and urges her on with creative cymbal and snare work, Syracuse often sites on pedal points to help Shaw build tension, and she is more than happy laying out, putting the spotlight on her colleagues."
