Make You're Own Home Improvements: Part I

As part of the Holbeck Urban Gardening weekend Pavilion is running a 'drop-in' photography workshop with Pavilion commissioned artist Millie Burton.
Be inspired by Millie Burton’s Home Improvements, drop in to the Pavilion... Gallery and work with Millie to photograph waste objects found around the Holbeck Urban Village, or bring a discarded object from home (all electrical items must be PAT tested). Some cameras will be provided but bring your own if possible.
The workshop will be followed by an Artist Talk with Millie Burton, who will discuss the Pavilion commission and exhibition of Home Improvements.
Workshop: 11.00am - 3.00pm at Pavilion. Free and open to all (children under 16 must be supervised by an adult).
Artist Talk: 3.00pm at Pavilion. Free and open to all.

Make You're Own Home Improvements: Part II
5 June - 9 July 2009
“Everything must go”. Pavilion will be opening up a ‘swap shop’, inviting members of the public to swap domestic objects that were once purchased but are now unwanted, and would otherwise be thrown away.
Leave your object at the Pavilion Gallery swap shop and swap it for an object that is new to you! The swap shop will launch on World Environment Day (5 June) and will run until the exhibition close. At the end of the exhibition all objects left in the swap shop will be recycled.
