Leland Yee My office will continue to work to ensure that the laws are followed by school administrators across the state and that students and advisors continue to have the ability to exercise their First Amendment rights. Student journalism is an integral part of independent news and of well rounded education.

Leland Yee Though it is a difficult time for many Californians, we still have so much bounty to be grateful for. Warmest wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be having dinner with my family home in San Francisco.

Leland Yee Schwarzenegger and UC Regents allow top administrators to live large while students continue to suffer. If this bothers you as well, join the supporters of Reform the UC !

Students have loans, maybe jobs, families, etc...But when they pay for school it hurts them to constantly have increases in transportation, food, books&supplies...without them(students) there is no funding for those administrators-without them students there is no schools...it's actually a big circle that becomes a flat line that will sooooon end!

UC was told to cut back big time, they respond by cutting back on everything but their perks, then raise fees 36%. Not tuition, FEES! Ask a student near you for more details. Employees that are left will also get higher costs for parking and benefits.

Leland Yee Until we eliminate domestic violence, funding for shelters should never be on the chopping block. While I am pleased that the Governor will finally help restore this funding, I am still dismayed that he would put women and children at risk in the first place. It is unacceptable to force victims into a choice between homelessness and returning to their abuser.

Leland thank you for your efforts to increase awarness. It's great to see that someone is willing to take a stand against a bad move even if the person making the bad move is our governor. I agree 100%. Our society does not take this problem seriously. We need more awareness and accountability.

My husband and I are adopting from the foster system. I must say, I am horrified by the draconian cuts facing our most vulnerable! The social workers and the care givers have been laid off; the outrageous workload of those that remain are taxing them to their breaking points.

So many foster children face a revolving door of housing. Now there is NO continuity of care from the foster system. We've had no fewer than a dozen social workers coming and going thru our home in the past 1 1/2 year since our daughter was placed with us.

How many children will be lost? This is tragic.... See More
