My family is still trying to get their homes back! Such a sad story. I tried to post a video of going into my family home after Katrina with the masks, the mold , and everything looked like it been sent through a dirty washing machine then thrown every which way. It was my first DVD, but so told the story. Wish I could find a way to share this ... Read Morewith all of the Katrina victims. I live in Dallas and have for many years.
N.O. is still the love of my life, so good luck in your endeavors. What can all of the New orleans lovers do to help? It's still not right and will it ever be again?

Thank you so much for posting this and for continuing the fight for justice. I just wrote a paper on environmental justice and the levees and it pains me so to remember how the events of August 2005 are still affecting many today. These voices deserve representation and I am happy to see organizations such as Levees.org asking for nothing more than a shred a truth amidst all the nonsense concerning the corps of engineers.

Thank you, Sandy, for your good works. My daughter and son-in-law moved to Lakeview from Boston in 2005. Their marriage was to take place in NEW ORLEANS on Labor Day weekend, 2005 in NEW ORLEANS. we all wound up in Houston for their wedding, and that is now their home. They may return to live some day when they feel the safety precautions, readily available in European sub-sea-level countries, have been implemented here. Please keep up the fight.

Fact 1The flooding of New Orleans and nearby St. Bernard parish was a civil engineering disaster, not a weather event. According to a 2007 study by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the majority of the damage from the flooding is due to the levees failing (page 39). ...
