Mainely Kids Photography Thought of 4 more setups for the annual report shoot. Then on to some MKP marketing ideas.

Mainely Kids Photography Well the one armed photog managed a LONG day on an annual report shoot for a client. It's easier with 2 arms but doable with one.

LA's first Pecha Kucha Night is Friday evening, January 8, from 5:30-8:30 at Gallery 5, 49 Lisbon Street, Lewiston.
Pecha Kucha means chatter in Japanese (so I am told). Pecha Kucha Night (PKN) Is a high energy evening of creative folks sharing creative ideas on a level playing field. Each presenter shows 20 images for ...20 seconds each. That's six minutes and 40 seconds to energize the audience with their ideas, project, art work, creativity.
No one monopolizes the mic and no one gets bored.
PKN was started in Tokyo by Klein Dytham Architecture in 2003 as a way for young designers to meet, network and show their work. The 20x20 concept was so energizing and so popular that it has expanded to many situations and venues in 245 cities globally. Pecha Kucha Night is now a trademarked event. It is a REAL social networking evening about interaction, direct feedback, eye contact, and so much more energy than we can get from a computer screen, yet enough structure that everyone gets involved.
Tammie Grieshaber, owner of Mainely Kids Photography, is bringing Pecha Kucha Night to LA as a forum for creative people in the community to share their ideas. "During the two years that I managed Gallery 5," Grieshaber explained, "I was awed by the number of creative people in our community and the impact that they have on our daily lives. The days that artists dropped off their work at Gallery 5 were so energizing for ME. I felt that I was the luckiest person in town to have these wonderful conversations!"
PKN is an opportunity for anyone to participate is these conversations. The pace is fast, but there is plenty of time built into the evening for people to meet, chit chat, and make connections.
LA's first Pecha Kucha Night features a wonderful mix of creative people.
Todd McIntosh, cabinet and furniture designer.
Lillian Kennedy, poet.
Geoff Leighton, videographer.
Dara Reimers, baker.
Ellen Peters, actress.
Gabby Russell, architect.
Jeanelle Demers, painter.
Tracey Twitchell Pray, photographer.
Melinda Campbell, painter.
Roderick Dew, digital artist.
Paul Davies, painter
The evening has 5 parts.
5:30 Informal chit chat and networking.
6:20 Six presentations.
7:15 Intermission for more chit chat.
7:35 Five more presentations.
8:30 More informal chit chat.
The event will move to different locations through out the community. Information about future events will be available at the January 8 PKN. The evening is open to the public. A $5 donation is appreciated to help cover expenses.

I am a new dog owner. Shiloh is a 10 month old Standard Poodle, my constant companion, and a not always willing photo model. My goal is to have her be as comfortable in front of the camera as I am behind it, but we have LOTS of training ahead of us. ...
