I’ve been wanting to use some new genres of music in my wedding highlights video for a while now, and Annie & Brian gave me the perfect opportunity because they love the “Avett Brothers” bluegrass band and so do we! Annie and Brian used this song for their first dance and it fit perfectly with the...ir beautiful summer wedding at the Porters Neck Country Club and Golf Resort in Wilmington, NC. One of the highlights of our day was when the pastor forgot to tell Brian to kiss Annie for the first time as husband and wife. Brian quickly asked permission. It was hilarious! You’ll have to watch it in the highlights to see it unfold. The rest of the evening was insanely fun. I don’t think Annie & Brian ever stopped dancing. It made us wish we didn’t have to work all night so we could dance with them! It makes our job so enjoyable when we see that the bride and groom truly can’t wait to be married, not because they want to throw a big wedding party (which was amazing) , but because they can’t wait to start spending their lives together. We saw that with Brian and Annie, and you can really see the emotion shine through in their highlights video. We are excited to announce and launch our new branding! We are still Life Stage, we just felt we wanted to get away from the word “video” so we could properly advertise what it is we provide. Yes, we provide “wedding videos”. But we’d like to argue they are a little bit different than a typ...ical wedding video. We capture the moments, but our clients don’t hire us to do that. They are hiring us to tell a story. To see things that they won’t. To artistically narrate the events of their wedding day in a very emotive and powerful way. So…Life Stage Films is born. Far from showing up at your wedding with film cameras and a film crew, but we “film” your wedding. The dictionary states the verb “To Film” means “to photograph with a motion-picture camera.” So, we are privileged to provide our clients “films” and not merely “videos”. And let’s face it, “films” just sounds cooler. :)

Gail has some style that’s for sure! Arguably one of the best designed and uniquely crafted weddings we have filmed. We have shot on Figure Eight many times, but never with a beautiful tent right on the waterway, and a massive, building sized tent on the Yacht Club’s grounds. It was stunning. As always, Rogers & Gala d...esigns and coordinates events with perfection, and it was a blast to work with Tamara Lackey Photography. So many thought out details all over the place including a seafood bar inside an actual ship on the patio, vibrant event lighting, the vintage getaway car, the custom painted dance floor with VIP couches surrounding it, and entertainment. I’m not sure what my favorite was; the gospel choir that surprised the guests during the ceremony or the incredible Big Band, Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters. They are some of the best talent we have ever seen at a wedding. Great party. Great couple. Beautiful ceremony. And lots of family and friends. It was a “Happy Day”.
