Hi all, hope you had a good Australia Day/Chinese New Year!
Don't let Melbourne's hottest heat wave in a century stop you from scrimmaging on the weekends! Need to keep up your form for the last few rounds of this season leading up to the finals :)

The persistent rain also changed our plans for the BBQ lunch and presentations at Lilydale Lake. We switched venues to the Lilydale Rink and had a quick presentation ceremony squeezed into the small gap between the artistic skating squad practising for the Christmas show and the parties booked in for the afternoon skating session.
Thanks to everyone who helped organise the day's events and prepared the morning tea and BBQ lunch!

We had a great time at Laser Strike Mooroolbark even though the weather threatened to wash us out. We played out the games in and around a former primary school. The classrooms were converted into an urban jungle with blacked out windows and upturned tables for cover. The asphalt courtyard in the middle of the classrooms were stacked with tractor tires to hide behind. The area behind the classrooms and up the hill to the basketball court had trees, wooden barricades, a large brick BBQ with a tall chimney stack and a deep, muddy ditch for us to play in.
The Rats played in baseball caps against a school group dressed in bush hats. The bush hats won the first deathmatch challenge in the classrooms. We suspect that we lost a few good men to friendly fire as everyone was testing their laser weapons against each other before the match started for real. However, the caps rallied together to win all the remaining challenges including a capture-the-flag scenario.
Go Rats!

Masters Bendigo Road Trip – Saturday December 20th
Bendigo Benny has invited us all for a hit and BBQ for our MILF Christmas break-up. It may be close to Christmas however the day does not collide with any league play. The offer is an incredible $20.00 for our 5 team Round Robin Format and BBQ included. It just keeps getting better as Skate Australia has offered to subsidise the costs for a bus to transport 29 nearly deads too blind to drive. The bus will cost us $5.00 each if we fill it. The bus will leave around noon and we will be on the rollers at 4.00 pm sharp. The comp will take the usual two and a half hours so if you need to get back to the city for a party that night you will have plenty of time. Better yet stick around and enjoy the Barbie! I need to know this week if you want to play and want a spot on the bus! We also need someone with an “endorsed licence to drive the bus. Any volunteers?
