Registration is open for the Deer Exchange, a program at Nebraska Game and Parks Commission that matches hunters with people who would like to receive venison. Last year, hunters donated 300 deer through the program. Officials are hoping that at least 1,000 deer will be donated this year. UNL School of Natural Resources A nanogeoscientist will highlight concerns about nanomaterials in the environment in a talk at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 in 901 Hardin Hall. Mike Hochella, the University Distinguished Professor of Geochemistry and Mineralogy at Virginia Tech, will present “Environmental Nanogeoscience: What Nature Has Already Taught Us,” a School of Natural Resources research seminar.

UNL School of Natural Resources Dr. Julio Betancourt, senior scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey and adjunct professor at the University of Arizona in Tucson, will be on East Campus for the talk: “How do plants actually migrate? Lessons from the Holocene in the American West,” 3 p.m., Nov. 11, Hardin Hall Auditorium. All are invited to attend this SNR Research Seminar and learn more from Dr. Betancourt's interdisciplinary perspective.

UNL School of Natural Resources The Soil and Water Resources Club will meet tonight (November 10th) at 5:15 p.m. in 901 Hardin Hall. Justin Evertson, with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, will speak on the East Campus Rain Garden Project. Food will be served and everyone is welcome to attend!
