Lisa Vroman Kennedy Center Honors tonight!!!

Lisa Vroman It's the turn of the century, and Marion, River City's idealistic librarian, captures the heart of Prof. Harold Hill, the traveling salesman and scalawag who has come to town to form the River City Boy's Band -- or so he claims. Meredith Willson's charmer is filled with great tunes including 76 Trombones, Ya Got Troub...le in River City, Goodnight My Someone, Marion the Librarian, Wells Fargo Wagon and more, with barbershop quartets and Sweet Adelines.

Lisa stars with former "Phantom" Brent Barrett in this wonderful musical, accompanied by Symphony Silicon Valley.

There are three performances:

Friday, January 15th at 8:00 pm
Saturday, January 16th at 8:00 pm
Sunday, January 17th at 2:30 pm

Gabby Hi Ms. Vroman! I got your CD "Broadway Classic" last Christmas and I loved it so much! Your voice is amazing! I have never seen you live but I will definitely love to if you are ever in NYC! I love being in shows (I've only done shows in school :P) and I am really hoping to get a good role in our spring musical! Did yo...u used to perform in school? Just wondering! :)

Carey Ann Fisher-Van Hollen Lisa, I am such a huge fan!! I absolutely love your Broadway Classic album. I'm also a singer myself, and I was just curious, is there any way to find sheet music to "Take of my Solitude"? I can't find anything about it anywhere, including who wrote it. Any info would be much appreciated! I hope to see you perform... live sometime soon here in NYC!! :)

I have been asked this so many times, when I recorded the song for my CD, the writer, Tom Meeghan, directed that the sheet music could not be distributed as it has yet to be published for public use. Thank you so much for getting back to me Lisa! Sorry to hear that it isn't published though, it's such a beautiful piece! Since I have you "on the line," Have you ever struggled in the past to find good audition pieces because of having such a lush legit voice? (I'm always afraid of sounding too operatic) I tend to stay in the traditional MT area (R&H, Porter, Weill, etc) But would like to branch out. Broadway seems to be going in a different direction sometimes, and it can be discouraging...pop musicals all over the place. Which is why when I see performers such as yourself, it is such a breath of fresh air to know that legit singers are still needed & wanted!

It has been quite a roadd and the thing is, the Pop musical trends came after I had already begun the long road and relationship in Phantom of the Opera. I feel I was lucky that came along at the right time! And it was a long lasting job, thankfully... I feel yo have to be who you are, sing what is the most comfortable. that said, ... See Morethe more flexible you are, the more job opportunities you will have. Try to be as true as you can to whatever style you sing.... pay attention to the language requirements, and keep your voice healthy
Try older musiclals.. maybe" Carnival" for example of beautiful pieces for sopranos... maye "Yes My Heart" or "Mira" both beautiful songs from that show.. do lots pf research!

Christine MERRY CHRISTMAS LISA! I remember as a little girl looking out the window to see what color decorations would be on the Vroman's tree. Would it be all blue or all red or??? Also eating your grandmother's home made sugar cookies with the walnuts in the center. I'd send some of my mom's Italian cookies over if I could... but I guess you'll have to " come home for Chirstmas if only in your dreams!" Tell your mom, Neil, Susie and of course David I said Merry Christmas!

Kathryn Hodge Thank you so much for singing with us in St. Louis. I'm in the Children's Choir and it was such a pleasure to sing with you. You are doing what my life goal is. Lisa Vroman Home at last!!! One more concert before Xmas. Rehearsal today with organist Peter Richard Conte at the Segerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County. The show is tomorrow evening, then we take a big breath and enjoy the holidays!!

Lisa Vroman Here in St. Louis having a blast doing Christmas concerts with conductor and good friend Ward Stare at the St. Louis Symphony. Two shows yesterday, two today, one on Sunday - I don't think I've done a 5 show weekend since my Les Mis days in 19... never mind!! Wonderful audiences for a superb orchestra.

Jennifer Davis Lisa ~ I played little Cosette in 3rd Natl. when you were Fantine. I was the girl that traveled with both of my little brothers. Anyway, I just found you and wanted to say hello! Looks like life is treating you well =)
