The mountains on the left side will be completed soon. Im moving my way down as you can see. I'll add some trees and then below that ill begin to add the lake and will end with the grass on the bottom left corner. The detail on the mountain has been random, it gives t...he mountain a natural look and it gives it much more texture. The right side will be similar except for the lake. I hope to have this drawing done soon.

Lisandro Peña This is what i have so far for the mountains. The top of the mountain will the most detail because it will be a combination of rock and snow. The bottom part will mostly becovered in snow, which will be just be the paper without any pencil. My goal with this section is to get the effect of jagged rocks with snow. So far its looking great.

Lisandro Peña I was asked to take a picture of one of my 11"x14" drawings and the siberian tiger for comparison. The drawing that you see there is of a serval and it measures 11"x14". As you can see there is a significant size difference. Ill post also a time lapse video of serval drawing. Well thanks for watching.

Lisandro Peña Well the body is pretty much complete, except for some details that i
will add once the background is finished. I have started to outline the
grass on the bottom right corner. Once i finish that i will move on to
the mountains. This is where i begin to get excited because i can
begin to see how it all starts to come toget...her. I've been working on
it as much as possible and im really happy with the way its turning
out. Thanks for watching

Lisandro Peña I have outlined the grass on the bottom right corner, but before adding the detail i will look at some reference to get an idea on what type of detail to add to the grass. Yup, ill be staring at pictures of grass :D. It helps me understand what ill be drawing which makes it much easier to add the detail. Anyways, i can...'t draw what i dont know and the more i know about what im drawing the more realism i can achieve.

No matter how many times you have drawn something, its always a good idea to study before actually putting it on paper. It refreshes your memory and it will make the whole process much easier.

Mike Sibley is a great artist and he has a great technique for drawing grass and foliage. I incorporate the needle when drawing foliage so what im planning now is where i should indent and what type of texture i want to get.

Lisandro Peña "You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget that errand." -- Woodrow Wilson.

Lisandro Peña The body is basically complete, what i might do still is feather out the tips of the white strips. It will give it a fluffier feel to the body. It looks like the body is floating so it looks kinda weird. The bottom right corner will have grass which will depth and will give the drawing contrast as the body will be m...uch lighter than that corner. As i add more details it will all start to come together.

Lisandro Peña I spent most of saturday drawing and the body is about 90% done. The hair on the body is a bit different from the hair on the legs and head. Its longer and thicker so i had to make sure that i got that right texture and that it flowed correctly. I should have the body done by tonight and will post a picture.

Lisandro Peña The tiger should be finished by monday and will then begin on adding the background. I have started working on the body and have added the indentations. I will now begin adding the details such as shadows and hightlights. Next update you see should be of the complete tiger.

Ive been busy working on this drawing. The paws are close to being done, there are subtle changes that i will make as i go along like darkening them. Im making sure that i get the right textures and that the layers of hair are visible. These layers give the drawing much more ...depth and the define the contours of the paw much better. Once the legs are done i will move on to the body which will be it for the tiger.

http://www.onlypencil.com This is what i have so far of the drawing, in that drawing i have indented the hair for the paws and just need to add the detail. This drawing will measure 30"x40".

Lisandro... what other techniques are there to do fur and hair? what did you use before you developed this technique? I have seen some fur and hair done that looks very realistic too but I wonder what technique they used. =)

Lisandro Peña This was a commission that i did a while back. Up to now that was the largest drawing i ever did measuring 18"x24". The commission was for an architect whose favorite building was The Sagrada Familia. He told me he was going to send me pictures of the drawing but just didnt get around to do it, but last night i recei...ved these two. It brought back memories and relived the whole process i went through to complete this drawing. I just thought i'd share it with all of you.

Lisandro Peña As you can see i have started adding detail to the legs. I have added quite a bit on the left side but there is still quite a bit more that i want to do. I want to add the clumps of hairs to add more texture and depth. On the right side i have outline with pencil the flow of hair which will help me with the indentat...ion. Once i have finished both legs i will move on to the body and that will be it for the tiger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxpjw9cF_nc
