2010 LOTTE LENYA COMPETITION
A unique opportunity for musical theater singers
Prizes of $15,000 - $10,000 - $7,500
The Lotte Lenya Competition is a one-of-a-kind, international contest that recognizes talented young singer/actors who are dramatically and musically convincing in repertoire ranging from opera/operetta to co...ntemporary Broadway scores, with a focus on the works of Kurt Weill. Emphasis is placed on the acting of songs and arias within a dramatic context.
AUDITIONS: You may audition live in Rochester, NY (20 February 2010) or New York City (12, 13, 14 March 2010) OR submit your audition on DVD by 15 February 2010. Both types of auditions will be weighed equally. Finals will be held on 17 April 2010 in Rochester.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to singer-actors aged 19-32 who were born after 31 December 1977 and before 1 January 1991.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 1 February 2010.
