By the tender age of 27, Bill Bruford's musical character had already been forged in the fiery furnace of four of the biggest progressive rock groups of all time; Yes, King Crimson, Genesis and UK. By nature a restless innovator uncomfortable with the well-worn path, Bill went on to a facinating 40-year career as a ba...nd leader and writer with his groups Bruford and Earthworks. His taste for the unpredictable in live performance has led him to collaborations with countless of the world's top rock and jazz musicians, in an endless search for the innovative, the unusual, and the unlikely. His work is well documented at Summerfold and Winterfold Records, and in his book Bill Bruford: The Autobiography, recently published by Jawbone Press.

* LIMITED TO 70 PLACES*

We would like to invite you to Tech Music Schools Industry Evening at George IV on Monday 23rd November at 7.15pm. The first Industry Evening was held at the beginning of the year and was highly successful. So, back by popular demand with a brand new panel of industry pro's we have our 2nd Industry Evening which promi...ses to be bigger and better than the last! Spaces are limited so sign up early to this fantastic opportunity.

The evening will be an exciting experience where you will be face-to-face with some of the music industry’s most innovative and experienced professionals, allowing you to have a further insight into the workings of the music business.

The first half of the evening will see the industry panel, which will consist of a variety of experts from sectors of the industry such as: Publishing, A&R, Artist Management, Indie Labels etc explain their role in the industry and discuss the current state of play in the music business.

The second half of the evening will provide you with the chance to have all your questions answered by them. By splitting all who attend into small groups, every group will have 15 minutes with each individual on the panel, allowing you to ask everything you’ve ever wanted to know!

THE BIG PROJECT!
The Artist Development Programme aims to provide a wide range of opportunities including:

Auditions:
A formalised and structured audition process is being put into place. TMS will actively be looking for jobs on your behalf and will also be putting forward selected students who fit the audition requirements of numerous companies on the look out for artists and musicians for their projects. As the music business is so varied it means there should be opportunities for a wide range of students who study here.

Audition Database:
TMS are currently setting up a database of students specifically for audition purposes. This database will enable us to understand the type of auditions in which you wish to be put forward for. It will also include the opportunity for you to have professional photographs taken for the database as well as for your personal use.

Industry Evenings:
As mentioned above, we aim to run these evenings regularly with an ever changing panel. This will allow you to see a broad variety of industry bodies covering a wide spectrum of jobs within the industry.

Other opportunities for you to get involved in through the Artist Development Programme include: Demo Reviews, Song Writing Competitions and Work Experience Opportunities. So keep your eyes open to get involved in these amazing events.

The Artist Development Programme will be explained in further detail on the night of 23 November. As from Thursday 11th November there will be a signing up sheet in the Student Area (by the vending machines) of 76 Stanley Gardens. So to get yourselves a head start in the industry please make sure you sign up quickly, we will be checking names on the evening, you will need to sign up first if you want to come in. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT DOWN ON THE SHEET, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN.

**********************************************************

If you have any further suggestions or ideas you would like to see put into place please do not hesitate to contact the TMS Artist Development Programe and we will do our best to organise the events you suggest!!
