My first go at this was made up from one of our secret suppers’ leftovers – the rich juices of roasted peppers, a handful of olive stones and half a pack of pot barley – but it’s just as easy with a few simple ingredients and can be made in one pot.

Salad Club Saturday's supper a resounding success with yet another lovely crowd. They ate: Spicy pumpkin and ginger soup --Mediterranean roast vegetable salad with feta and tahini --Star anise infused pork shoulder with black rice and buttered cabbage -- Gypsy cake with raspberry coulis -- Coffee. We got to enjoy the leftovers - what could be better?!
