The past decade has presented an explosion of clinical research to show specifically what health benefits individual foods can offer, identifying the various nutrients associated with these benefits.

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda YAY! Cloudiness in my head and pull behind mine wee eyes has lifted!! It's either because a) I'm at work instead of jury duty or b) I put drops of Rescue Remedy in my water. I think it's a combo, but check this stuff out - Yoga in a Bottle. http://www.rescueremedy.com

Everyday our emotions are put to the test; whether it be a traffic jam, impending work deadlines, dealing with travel or the never-ending car pool.

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda In addition to the foods we eat, emotions play a HUGE role in how we digest our foods. If we are wigged out emotionally, we won't digest our food properly and we'll get ama (toxins). So release the junk and let it go! http://bit.ly/8Jc009

DUDE! I’m on my fourth week of jury duty and its taking its toll on me. It is absolutely emotionally draining. Despite eating proper foods and following nature’s clock, my tongue is coated white in the back. ...

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda During Holiday stress it's easy to over caffeinate because coffee is warm, comforting and gives us a jolt...and then a crash. Try substituting afternoon coffee for herbal teas with honey. Walk away from your desk for 5-10 min and look outside to rejeuvenate. And remember to breathe!!

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda For cold hands and feet, apply sesame oil before heading out into the cold. The oil has a "warming" action on the body and will keep blood circulating to those tiny fingies and toes. Cold-pressed Sesame oil - not toasted - in your grocery store! Stay warm!

Shelly McIntosh Frampton I have to tell you that I've been reading up on ayurveda, your site being the most frequented by me, and I have noticed a big difference in my health even after just a few changes (sesame oil massages being my favorite one!). I have managed to avoid the flu this season over and over (I work at a doctors' office)- until... this week. :( Stress got the best of me! But I've been using the neti pot and sesame oil in the nose and ears, and for the first time I gargled with it tonight. What is normally a dry, hacking cough and terrible sinus infection by now is comparitively sooooo mild. Ginger tea kicks butt, too. Thank you so much for all the info, and keep it coming!!! Sorry for being so wordy, but I had to share the love. :) xoxox

Micole O'Neill Noble Hi Monica B: I have a question about using my neti pot...I've been using for a couple of weeks now and can't help but feel like I'm drowning a bit each time I use it, even feel fluid in my ears after. Is this normal? What am I not doing correctly? Please advise. I love the cleansing of it, just want to make sure I'm doing it right!

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda Eat your dates! They are great to balance us this time of year. Hearty, earthy, sweet, and kinda gooey. Trader Joe's has good ones. Don't eat the pits! :P

Kelly Gillotti HeyMonicaB! I finally discovered that I have an allergy to sodium lauryl sulfate and have been able to remove nearly all of it from my hygiene and household products. My skin has improved significantly, but not completely. Three days ago, I found that it lived in my toothpaste!!! I hadn’t thought to check there before.... Needless to say, I was pretty upset. It sent me on a two hour search for DIY toothpaste using only what I had in my house. At three in the morning, I am up, making toothpaste from salt, baking soda and mint extract. It’s yucky, but my mouth feels so fresh and so clean, clean =) much longer than using regular toothpaste. I also noticed that the ama on my tongue in the morning has nearly disappeared. I haven’t changed my diet, so I’m not sure that this is actually a good sign? I am happy I made the switch though.

HeyMonicaB: A Blooming Resource on Ayurveda Hey! Answering the question on Aromatherapy and how much it's used in Ayurveda. Good stocking stuffer idea too. Who doesn't love some aromatherapy!? Carry on...http://bit.ly/4J1MYT

So, our nose is responsible for conducting one of the 5 senses, smell. In Ayurveda, we use the 5 senses as the sole vehicles for healing. Specifically, the nostrils consist of two channels (ida and pingala) which send messages directly to the brain. ...
