Call to Action: Columbia Savings Building
Please attend a hearing on the Columbia Savings Building at Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. The Planning and Land Use Management Committee is scheduled to vote on whether to recommend certification of the environmental impact report (EIR) for the massive Wils...hire and La Brea Project. This project calls for the demolition of the historic Columbia Savings Building (Irving Shapiro, 1965), a striking example of postwar bank design. We need a strong turnout to show the committee that the building is an important part of L.A.'s postwar heritage.
