Louisville Zoo The fall leaves are almost gone, but there is a beautiful fruit display on various plants and bushes at the Zoo. Enjoy the Nandina, Deciduous Hollies and Beautyberry. The ornamental grasses are also awesome this time of year.”

Louisville Zoo Heads-up! If you come to the Halloween Party tonight, tomorrow night or Friday night and bring an old cell phone to donate for recycling - you'll get a free reusable bag from Eco-Cell and E.On US. It's a great way to help the Zoo support conservation. (Don't forget Friday is the last night of the party!)

a good kid freindly song they could have played at the zoo in the dance area could have been this instead of "Staying Alive" since it is the exact same song but with different words and has more to do with Halloween. the name of the song is "SCARIN' alive" Just listen to the song to know what I mean.........

Louisville Zoo Emily and Brandie, two Louisville Zoo teen volunteers, won a contest sponsored by Polar Bears International and got to spend 4 days in Churchill Canada, the polar bear capital of the world. While they were there they saw 22 polar bears. Both girls are dedicated to doing what they can to help save polar bears and their natural habitat.

Free membership to the halloween party has always been advertised as a "perk" for zoo members. Imagine our disappointment when we tried to go tonight and were told we had to pay $8/piece to get in despite our loyal patrionage as zoo members for the past 10 yrs. No thanks....it's definitely not worth extra $$ to go. Wonder if I can get a refund on my membership?

Just make sure if you bring a chair you sit on the correct side- they have a blanket side and a chair side- what is so funny is that you can have your big stroller up on the blanket side but can't sit in a chair. I was there last friday and they made a group of mentally handicap adults move- there was no one sitting behind them on a blanket but because they were on that side they told them to move- Other than that its a nice evening out with the kids!
