Ginger (formally Piper) is officially in her forever home! She is a tired girl, it took 16 hours to get here. She had some food, checked things out and got lots of love.
Thank you Lucky Lab Rescue!!!! Thank you for giving us this precious girl!

How is our incredible 6 foot lab doing today. Apparently, they did have enough room in the van for a dog of his size.

I am so glad your kids are very excited to meet Deacon. He is a great dog. As for introducing him, he is very friendly and should do just fine meeting your kids. Once in a while he gets very excited or very nerveous and will piddle a bit on the floor. When I took him to get micro chipped it was a big event and he did great. Wanted to meet all ... Read Morethe dogs and he let any one pet him and give him treats.

We don't use the choke chains/collars. We use on both of our Labs what is called the pinch or prong collar. Both trainers we used recommend them. We have also used a gentle leader for younger dogs and it works pretty well. It keeps them from pulling. Deacon walks pretty good on his regular collar but he is usually coupled to one of our others dogs. Not to say they walk great on the leash, even though both have been through training :(. He will catch on quickly especially with the gentle leader. If you take him through basic obediance training the trainer might suggest a specific collar to use in class. Hope this helps!

I am not up to date with my dog lingo! I meant a prong collar but thought they were called choke collars :-(
I got him a gentle leader collar!
Hope the transition is good. He will have 3 energetic kids to play keep away with
