Come Join Luis Tiant and other Celebrities in this private viewing of “The Lost Son of Havana”. A film that draws together several stages of Tiant’s history, his career accomplishments and highlights, his father’s experience playing in the Negro Leagues in the thirties and forties, and his own travel in and around Hava...na in 2007, looking for old friends and family. It is a striking, personal portrait of a man still widely admired for his ability and flair on the mound––but another portrait emerges, as well, of the personal costs of segregation and Cold War politics; of the twentieth century’s social ills, which baseball may palliate, but cannot cure.
Thanks to the generosity and hard work of Producer Kris Meyer, we are able to get a preview of "The Lost Son of Havana". This Film was produced in conjunction with the Farrelly Brothers, the same team that has brought such blockbusters as Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary and Outside Providence. Please take this opportunity to enjoy a great film, have a great time, and most importantly help raise money for The Luis Tiant Charitable Foundation.
