Axel & Charlie played on a TV programme in the 80's called "A Left Hand Like God". This was watched by Ben Waters at the age of 14, who was inspired by them to follow a career in boogie woogie.
Axel is a former concert pianist who also fell in love with boogie woogie... and is acknowledged, along with Ben and Jools Holland, as one of the finest exponents of the genre. Rolling Stone Charlie needs no introduction or confirmation of his excellence. A performance in London in April was described by The Times as "like a bouncy castle for grown ups"!
