St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ It seems that we do not have the capacity to fully appreciate the great gift who is Mary. Just think. She was the means by which the Son of God united Himself with us. She caused Him to do his first miracle at the wedding in Cana. Then, in his Agony, He gave her to us to be our Mother. Great things have happened because of her. Even greater things are coming.

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ Blessed Teresa of Calcutta brought Natural Family Planning (NFP) as the way to postpone pregnancy to India. She saw people as children of God who deserved to be treated with respect. Mother Teresa knew that NFP is natural; a person is not subject to the dangers of chemicals or devices.

It was nice to have a different change of pace in the previous two months. The days were longer; the weather was warm and hot. Perhaps some of us had the opportunity to get away for a few days or to make some day trips. I hope that you had some time to relax and enjoy this time.

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, born on August 26, 1910, said:
" A great poverty reigns in a country that allows taking the life of an unborn child -- a child created in God's image, created to live and love. His or her life is not for destroying but for living, despite the selfishness of those who fear that they lack the ...means to feed or educate one more child."

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ St. John Chrysostom:
"Christ has put us on earth to act as beacons that give light, as doctors who teach so that we might fulfill our duty as leaven.... It would not be necessary to preach doctrine if your lives were so radiant, nor would it be necessary to have recourse to words if your works gave testimony. There wo...uld not be a single pagan if we conducted ourselves like true Christians." (Homily on the i Tim.)

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ Did you ever consider what you are saying when you pray a Hail Mary? The first part is quoting from the Bible; so, you are reciting Holy Scripture (The Gospel According to St. Luke: 1:28, 42). The second part is asking Mary to pray for you and others now and at the moment of death. Just as we ask our friends and loved ones to pray for us, we ask Mary.

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ Every now and then you hear people criticizing God because of some great tragedy or disaster. But, how often have we kicked God out of the public forum, out of our schools, and out of our laws! How many times have we neglected to follow God's laws to be diligent in protecting others from accidents, diseases and dangers!

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ It seems amazing to hear of non-Catholics who converted to the Catholic faith because of the Eucharist. They were drawn to a Catholic Church, knew and felt that there was something special about being inside and spent time before the Tabernacle. Then, they began to study what our Faith teaches and soon were received in...to the Church. But, it's really not amazing. It's the power of the Holy Eucharist.

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ The Holy Eucharist is powerful. It is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, under the appearance of bread and wine. It is in every Tabernacle of every Catholic Church throughout the world.

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst, NJ We should never be afraid of Confession. It's admitting that we did wrong, we messed up, we sinned. A valid Confession involves me confessing everything and the frequency of each sin, as well having sorrow with the desire of not committing sins again.
