First, I want to get out of the way that you are one of my favorite authors, and the Nightrunner series is a favorite of mine. I don't usually read fantasy novels, but when I discovered the books through a good friend, I instantly fell in love with the characters and their world. However, as much as I would love a signed bookmark for myself, I am... See More actually writing this entry for that friend. The Nightrunner books mean so much to her, but she's much too shy to post anything. My one request, if by some chance I do happen to win, is if you could possibly not post this entry for everyone to read? My friend isn't aware that I am writing this, and if I won I would send the bookmark to her as a surprise gift. It would definitely mean the world to her to have one. Thank you.

I came across the Nightrunner series while browsing through a fantasy book forum for reading suggestions. The description sounded fun, so I went out and bought Luck in the Shadows. I started reading the book that same day, and didn... See More’t put it down until I had finished it at around four that next morning. I immediately bought the second and third books, and had the same reaction, in addition to sadness that there was not a fourth book. When I found out a couple years later that a fourth book was coming out, I very nearly screamed with joy. My mother bought it for me for Christmas and between helping her cook and clean, I read the book the same way that I had the first three. I also got my mother to read the series, as well as several of my friends. I absolutely love the Nightrunner series. I read and re-read these books, imagining all the places, the people, and the animals, and wish that I could see it all in real life, that I could for at least one day live there and experience the culture for myself. A bookmark would not really help with that desire, but it would still be pretty awesome. :) I’ve always wanted something more than books to keep around and remind me of this wonderful series.

My partner has flipped for his Kindle, and now wants ALL of your books and all of Lois McMaster Bujold's books (his two favorite living authors) on the Kindle, even though we own all of them in hardcover and paper already! (Though I must say he has excellent taste, don't you think?)
