Went to the workshop in Coloma and had a great time! I was able to get some great suggestions from the Brothers at other Lodges to help spice up our regular meetings. Also received some good materials from Brother Bob. If your sitting on the fence, YOU SHOULD GO!

MICHIGAN MASONS - Official Page of the Grand Lodge of Michigan Economic times have schools under much pressure to deliver quality education and support to students. The struggles can be helped with the Beacon Project, which began as a mentoring program for elementary students. Over the years, lodges have volunteered for other efforts - installing playground equipment, doing buildi...ng maintenance work, helping at school functions, etc. Tell us about your Beacon Project experience.

Its so hard for East African people to join your truck so to my opinion it would be better if you open a new branch or lodge for the new members who live in such countries

I just attended the retreat at Birmingham Temple last weekend. Brothers, if you're on the fence about whether to attend, DO it. It is a worthwhile investment of time; I came away with a ton of great ideas for my upcoming year in the East. Big thanks to everyone that put on this event!

MICHIGAN MASONS - Official Page of the Grand Lodge of Michigan Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code, has just released a new novel called "The Lost Symbol." In the novel, Robert Langdon is on a mission to find a Masonic pyramid which contains a code that unlocks an ancient secret to "unfathomable power."

According to Brown, "I think there will be an enormous number of people who... will be interested in the Masons after this book [is released]."

What do you think of the book? Do you think it will attract more men to Masonry?

I'm a non-mason who read the book the first week it came out. It has definitely sparked a sincere interest in joining, but it is not something I want to take lightly. If I am to enter the ranks, I'd like it to be a worthwhile journey rather than a rush to become a "master" for some immediate gratification. I've been reading more at the bookstore ... See Moreand on the web, yet I haven't found any guidance on how to go about selecting a lodge one might fit into. Any suggestions? Can anyone recommend a book or link about it?
